Week Two Framing 2.0

This process continues to amaze me.

Sara and I went out to the land after work today. It is noticeable that the days are getting longer, and it is nice that we are able to see the progress in the daylight after work. This is the first day where you can really kind of see the shape and size of the home as it is situated on the lot. You can almost see the walls as they are in this picture, forming the shape of the sketch in the header of this blog.

There are temporary steps leading into where the front door of the house will be. The staircase up and down stairs are in place so you can see the flow of the house. It was fun walking around the main floor and looking out into the woods from where the dining room will be. We went upstairs and walked around throughout. I've included a picture of Sara checking out the bedroom part of the master suite. In all of the rooms, we can see where we'll enter closets, where hallways are and where we'll walk from room to room. In fact, with the exception of one closet (OUR future bedroom closet where there is currently no evidence of a door or entrance), we can see clearly as we walked around how the layout is what we put together so many months ago. (I guess we'll have to ask if they're planning to add a way in and way out of that particular closet).

For basically the only time this week, we're home tonight with some time to talk about plumbing and other upcoming decisions.

I'm anxious to see tomorrow how much they accomplish as they wrap up this work week and approach 50% completion of the framing.
